General Requirements to Apply for the Position of Police Officer:

1. United States Citizen and at least 21 years of age upon hiring.

2. No felony convictions on criminal history report. Summary, Ordinance and Misdemeanor offenses will be assessed on an individual basis.

3. Must be able to meet MPOETC physical fitness requirements (FOUND HERE)

4. Valid driver's license and/or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.

5. High school diploma or GED. 

6. Must reside within 25 air miles of Newberry Township upon hiring.

7. Possess hearing and vision in compliance with MPOETC criteria.
