Shortly before 8:00 PM on October 1, 2025, Newberry Township Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a commercial building in the 400 block of Hemlock Lane, Newberry Township.

Officers arrived on scene in under 2 minutes from the time of dispatch and quickly located a female suspect in the vicinity. Following an on-scene investigation, it was determined that the suspect, identified as Janell Monroe, 24, of Baltimore, MD, had gained entry into the business and caused damage to property on the premises.

Monroe was taken into custody and subsequently charged with the following offenses:

• Burglary (Felony 1)
• Criminal Trespass (Felony 2)
• Criminal Mischief (Misdemeanor 3)
• Loitering and Prowling at Nighttime (Misdemeanor 3)

Monroe was transported to the York County Booking Center for arraignment on the listed charges.
