Vice Presidential Visit to Cause Significant Traffic Disruptions

The Fairview Township Police Department has been notified that the Vice President of the United States will be making a visit to the Capital City Airport for a rally on Monday, October 19, 2020.  While the exact timing of the event is still subject to change, motorists are advised to expect a high volume of traffic and periodic road closures that will cause significant traffic disruptions between 2 pm and 6 pm.  Affected roadways will included the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Interstate 83, Lewisberry Road, Old York Road, and Airport Road next to Giant Foods.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes to avoid this area if at all possible during this period of time.  Anybody who must be in the area should be patient and plan on the potential for significant delays due to the expected volume of people and periodic road closures.
