National Night Out
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately we have decided to cancel our National Night out Community Celebration in 2020. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, National Night Out was moved from the first Tuesday in August to October 6th. This is a time when school will be back in session along with all of the after-school activities. In addition, we rely strongly on support from local businesses, of which many have suffered financially during the past few months. This event requires many months of planning and for several reasons, including those listed above, we felt it was best to cancel the event for 2020. We hope to see everyone in August 2021.
Normally, on the first Tuesday of August we hold our National Night Out Community Celebration at Roof Park, 599 Lewisberry Road, New Cumberland. The event runs from 5:30PM – 8:30PM. This is a NO COST event with FREE food, prize drawings, and a variety of games and activities for families.
The concept of National Night Out is to promote strong police – community relationships and improve neighborhood awareness on crime prevention. The police department will be providing child ID kits to families that document a child’s photograph, fingerprints and DNA in case it’s needed in an emergency. There are also displays from the Fairview Township Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services, as well as other public safety and community organizations.
