The Fairview Township Police Department is investigating several thefts from unlocked vehicles in the Green Lane Farms area of the township. These were to have occurred in the early morning hours of November 17, 2020 and involved at least two subjects who were searching through any unlocked cars they could find and stealing anything of value. On Tuesday morning, They were known to have entered cars on Green Lane Drive, Forest Drive, and Hickory Place. Police ask any residents in the Green Lane Farms neighborhood that have video cameras outside their homes to check for footage of these suspects. Anyone who may have captured them on video is asked to contact the Fairview Township Police Department at 717-901-5267.
Police in Lower Allen Township and Newberry Township are also investigating a recent uptick in these types of cases. In these types of crimes, the criminals are specifically searching out unlocked cars. When they find a locked car, they move on to the next residence. They are looking for the quick and quiet score. Police urge all residents to ALWAYS LOCK YOUR CARS when you leave them parked outside. Do not make yourself an easy target for these criminals.
