At the May 2025 York County Regional Police Commission meeting. Chief Damon presented Officer George "Chip" Rupp II (Ruppy), with the YCRPD Officer of the year award for 2024. Squad supervisors are asked to nominate an officer from their squad who's performance in 2024 was exemplary. Once all nominations were in. Both Chiefs and Lieutenants went through the nominations and choose a winner. Since joining the department in 2022, Rupp has shown he is a valuable asset to the department. "Ruppy" always has a positive attitude and is rarely seen without a smile on his face. He's helpful and good at investigations. Rupp has shown he is dedicated to serving the communities we cover, deterring and solving crimes. We congratulate Officer Rupp for being recognized as YCRPD 2024 Officer of the Year!
