The West Manchester Township Police Department would like to announce that the police department has been awarded a grant for the purpose of purchasing body worn cameras for deployment in 2021.  The department will be receiving grant funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Office of Criminal Justice System Improvements in conjunction with the US Department of Justice.  The department will be implementing this equipment with policies and practices that are consistent with the Department of Justice standards and in cooperation with federal assistance and training.  The equipment being purchased is manufactured by Watchguard video systems which will be utilized with our existing Watchguard in-car camera solution already deployed every day in our patrol vehicles.  The department will be acquiring 26 body cameras to equip our patrol, detective division, and our School Resource Officers at the West York School District.
