Message from the Board of Supervisors of West Manchester Township

A Message from the West Manchester Township

Board of Supervisors

These are trying times and the COVID-19 coronavirus has, and will continue, to disrupt our everyday lives for some time.  We would like our residents to know that we are working diligently, as are all of you, to move forward and continuing to provide services to you as we face this crisis together.

As always, our first priority is the safety of the Township residents and its staff.  The Township has been, and will continue, to monitor this pandemic through our Federal, State and County medical professionals in order to provide our residents with the latest, up to date information.

We continue to focus on the needs of our residents, while also adhering to appropriate and necessary measures to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.  We thank you for being understanding of the temporary delays or suspensions of some services in order to protect all of us.  While it will be difficult to measure if any of our actions are overreactions, our under reaction will be immediately apparent so we will continue to err on the side of caution.

We also realize that our residents’ everyday lives and routines have been severely impacted during this time.  To help our residents face these financial difficulties from loss of employment and additional childcare needs, we have temporarily suspended the termination of water service for past due accounts.  The Township will also evaluate additional measures to take in the future to help alleviate the financial burden COVID-19  has had on all of us.

Also, starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020, Governor Tom Wolf and the State of Pennsylvania will begin enforcing the closing of all non-life-sustaining businesses.  The Township will continue to be operational during this time.  This order was issued by the Governor and the Secretary of Health in order to attempt to control the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.  Questions regarding the classification of your business should be directed to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Finally, we urge all of our residents and customers to keep themselves informed and safe during this time.  Not only safe against this virus, but also against individuals who will prey on this situation for their own financial gain.  Please only receive and give your information to trusted sources and if you believe that something isn’t right, call the Township Police Department to report it.

For the most up-to-date COVID-19 guidance and resources for Pennsylvanians, please visit www.pa.gov/covid-19.

All of West Manchester Township stands committed, vigilant and ready to assist you as we navigate these unchartered waters together.  Be kind and be safe.
