Lower Windsor Township Police Department took a stolen vehicle report on January 18, 2022, in the area of Gilbert Lane.  On March 1, 2022, we were notified by York City Police Department of the recovered vehicle.

Last week, in Spring Garden Township, there have now been numerous reports of thefts from vehicles as well as stolen vehicles.

Most theft vehicles have no forced entry and most occur when people fail to lock their car doors and leave valuables in plain sight.

We'd like to take this opportunity to remind Lower Windsor Township residents to lock your vehicles.  Do not leave valuables in your car including purses, backpacks and laptops.  And most importantly, do NOT leave spare keys or key fobs in your car.  

Please call 911 immediately if you see anyone entering cars or pulling on car doors in your neighborhood.  Please call 911 before entering your car if you are a victim so we can document and attempt to process your car for potential evidence.
