This law ensures that public information and records pertaining to the police department are open and available and serve as a resource for citizens, public officials and members of the media. If you would like to make a request for a copy of an Open Record, complete the required Open Records Request Form (PDF). Once completed, your request should be mailed (see address above), emailed (policeinfo@lowerwindsor.com), faxed to 717-244-8263 or hand-delivered.
APPEALS
Appeals should be made to the PA Office of Open Records within 15 days of the mailing date of the police department's denial of a record. Appeals should be sent to:

If the denial of records is pursuant to Section 708(b)(16), as relating to a criminal investigation, then an appeal will need to be filed with the York County District Attorney's Office.

Once the request is fulfilled and prepared for release, this agency requires the cost of the records to be paid prior to releasing the records to the requestor. Payment may be made by cash or *check only.
