2/9/2023 - Scam Alert

LWTPD was made aware of a scam attempt where our department information is being used as part of a potential scam.

We received information that LWTPD information (phone #) is being used by potential scammers requesting individuals to report to the police department or contact the police department by a certain date or time; or return a call to an alternate # to US Legal Services.  The individual(s) involved in this fraudulent call is acting as an agent of this Agency and identifying himself as a police officer.  This is in no way related to business being conducted by this agency. 

Please do not disclose any information to individuals who call or contact you via phone or internet.  If you are contacted by an individual identifying themselves as a member of the LWTPD who request you to call an alternate number, please contact the police department at 717-244-8055, or York County 9-1-1 on their non-emergency line at 717-854-5571 to verify the officers status.
