Prescription Drug Disposal

The Southern Regional Police Department accepts prescription medications for disposal.

We do not accept syringes or needles (sharps).  See https://www.ycswa.com/disposal-of-household-waste/medical/#:~:text=Resid... for guidance.

The department has acquired a Drop Off Box courtesy of the York County Solid Waste Authority to secure medications to be destroyed.

The box is located in the lobby of the police department and people may drop off unused or outdated prescriptions during lobby hours Monday - Friday 8am - 430 pm.  *** With the lobby currently closed due to COVID 19 people can come to the side door of the police department and ring buzzer to drop off medications ***

The year around acceptance allows citizens to get the medications out of their house and secure without having to wait for scheduled dates.

All medications will be secured for disposal and no questions of name, etc. will be asked.
