Right now, the focus is on helping first responders, Michaux State Forest staff, and Parks staff.
How you can help :
▶Avoid the areas of Michaux State Forest north of Rt 30, Kings Gap Environmental Education Center, Buck Ridge Trail, and Pine Grove Furnace State Park, and the roads surrounding the area. First responders are spread thinly and we need to limit pulling them in other directions.
▶Support our First-Responders: Needs vary based on each Fire Department, but consider support through monetary donations or non-perishable items like Gatorade, snacks, and water.
▶Keep an eye on your surroundings and watch for any smaller fires popping up. Report any new or smaller fire you see immediately.
▶Don’t burn/have a fire. Spring is time of high wildfire threat and the region is also in drought.
