From the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation:
"Intersection Upgrade Planned for Next Week at Kindig Lane and High Street in Hanover Borough, York County
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the intersection of Kindig Lane and High Street in Hanover Borough, York County, will be converted to a signalized intersection next week.
Weather permitting, signal installation will occur from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Tuesday, November 19. There will be lane restrictions under flagging during work hours. Delays are expected. Travelers should seek alternate routes.
This project includes the installation of temporary traffic signals, pavement markings and signs at the intersection.
Once this work is complete, the signals will be placed on flash and will remain in flash mode until the morning of Thursday, November 21, at which time they will be fully activated.
Currently, there is a stop condition at the Kindig Lane leg of the intersection. Both directions of High Street are through movements without stop or yield conditions in place. The intersection is being signalized to improve safety and operations.
A project to install permanent signals is expected to be bid in December of this year and be completed by late summer of 2025. The temporary signals will remain in place until this project is completed.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews."
