On October 17, 2024 at approximately 11:54 PM the Hanover Borough Police Department was dispatched to a residence in the first block of Pleasant Street for a report of a burglary and physical assault. Through the course of the investigation the police learned that two subjects, one male and one female, had arrived at the residence and met a 25 year old female resident outside. The female suspect physically assaulted a female resident outside the residence, causing her to retreat into the residence. The male suspect then entered the residence and also physically assaulted the female resident and a 24 year old male resident before being forced outside. The male and female suspects then fled the scene.

The female victim in this case was transported to UPMC Hanover for treatment for moderate injuries. The male victim in this case suffered minor injuries and refused treatment. 

The investigation has resulted in the identification of the two suspects, one 47 year old Maryland man and one 34 year old Maryland woman. Further investigation revealed that the suspects were known to the victims and that the incident was not a random act. The investigation is continuing.
