York City Police Arrest Two On Firearms Charges

On 03/03/2023 at approx. 8: 45 am, VIU officers, the Detective Bureau, and the USMS Fugitive Task force conducted a warrant service in the 800 blk. of Wallace St for a known juvenile GMI (Group Member Involved) member. This individual was a material witness in an upcoming trial and absconded from his probation detention center. upon further investigation, inside a vent in the second-floor bathroom, Officers located a Glock 19 9mm firearm, which was reported stolen out of Virginia Beach. Charges are pending against the juvenile for firearms violations.

On 03/03/2023 at approx. 11:32 am, Patrol Division and VIU officers were dispatched to the area of Turkey Hill on W Market St for a report of two males involved in an altercation where a firearm was displayed. Multiple callers reported that one of the males brandished a firearm, pointed it in the direction of the other male, and fire in his direction. Officers arrived on scene and developed suspect and vehicle information associated with the offender. Officers located the suspect in the vehicle in the 300 block of W Market St and, after a brief investigation, took him into custody. The suspect was found to be in possession of a concealed black S&W SD40 with an obliterated serial number. The suspect did not have a license to carry a firearm concealed and is a person not to possess a firearm. The suspect was subsequently arraigned on related firearms and endangerment charges.
