This morning if you noticed some traffic congestion in Downtown York it was because the Christmas Tree was being brought into town and set up.
The tree was generously donated by John and Kathy Rhoads of York. It was then cut and moved to the square with the help of Kinsley Construction (crane and operator, truck) and the York City Electrical Bureau. Officers from the York City Police Department assisted in bringing the tree into the square and helped out with traffic control.
The tree will be decorated in preparation of the annual Light Up York ceremony to be held in the square on Saturday, December 7, 2019.
You can follow the progress of the tree on twitter: https://twitter.com/ContSqTreePA or on the City of York Facebook page, where the trip will be livestreamed.
