Arrest

On Thursday, May 13^th, 2021, the York City Police Department, with the assistance of the US Marshals, arrested Ryan Strada, age 20 of York, in connection with the homicide that took place on May 3^rd, 2021 at 305 Smyser St.

The York City Police Department has an arrest warrant for Nicholas Strada, age 17 of York, in connection with the same homicide.

Ryan Strada is charged with the following offenses:

• Criminal Homicide
• Robbery
• Burglary

Nicholas Strada is charged with the following offenses:

• Criminal Homicide
• Robbery
• Burglary

Dangers of Marijuana

The homicide at 305 Smyser St. stemmed from a robbery attempt involving a quantity of marijuana. This is yet another homicide linked to the street level marijuana trade. Since 2017, 5 of the homicides that have occurred in the City of York have been related to marijuana.
