Please assist the York Area Regional Police Dept in locating George Lewis, a 61 y/o male who is suffering from dementia. Mr Lewis, walked away from a nursing facility earlier this evening and his whereabouts are unknown. He was last seen wearing a green & blue flannel jacket and possibly grey sweatpants. Mr Lewis is a white male, 5’10” weighting approx 175 lbs and may have glasses. He is to have a splint on his right arm. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to contact York County 911 and /or York Area Regional Police Dept.
First responders are currently on scene for a residential structure fire at 419 Corbin Rd. in York Twp. While on routine patrol, Ofc. Glass discovered that the residence was on fire and attempted to make entry. Fire department arrived shortly after to assist and take over the scene. Fire has been extinguished at this time and no one was home at the time of the fire. Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
There have been news stories and precautions for citizens receiving packages from the sender "China Post" that have seeds contained inside of the package. The U.S. and Pennsylvania Department's of Agriculture are investigating these packages and seeds to determine if they are harmful to our Country.
On Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1250 hours; York Area Regional Police and local Fire Departments responded to a structure fire on the 300 block of Paula Drive in York Township. Upon arrival, all five people who reside at the residence were outside unharmed. York Area Regional Fire investigator and Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal responded to find origin and cause.
Springwood Rd between School St and Pauline Dr in York Township will be temporarily closed in both directions due to a utility pole down as a result of a hit and run crash. Utility crews are currently on scene and working to open the road back up as soon as possible. Police are investigating the crash.
As part of the WellSpan Heart & Vascular Project, workers must create a trench across Monument Rd to connect low voltage data lines to the site. Monument Road will be closed from Friday 26 June until Sunday 27 June at 4pm.
On June 13, 2020 at 0603 hours; York Area Regional Police Department was dispatched to a house fire on 100 block of Maylyn Ave, Dallastown. Upon arrival the residence was fully engulfed with several neighboring fire departments on scene. York Area Regional and Pa. State Police investigators were on scene, no determination of origin or cause at this time. A neighbor was able to save the owner's dog Murphy who was given oxygen and is in good health.
On June 7th at 1115 hours, YAPD officers responded to vehicle accident on School St. at Woodcrest Dr. The driver not injured, however the driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI after failing field sobriety tests and exhibiting other clues.
