Be aware of fraudulent phone calls

Be aware of suspicious similar phone calls.

In the past few weeks Officers have taken several reports of suspicious phone calls in which the elderly are targeted in attempt to have them provide information over the phone to people claiming to be from the Social Security Administration.

Each time this has happened the caller stated the exact same thing,  “ we have located a car in Texas that is registered to you and it has blood and cocaine in it”  We will be sending someone to your house with an arrest warrant. “  then they wait for a reaction from the person they are calling.  Sometimes asking for additional personal information or to simply have you verify information and volunteer additional information that can be used to steal your identity or steal from an account in some way.
