Citizens awarded for saving a life at Ace Hardware in Red Lion, Windsor Township.

Kathryn "Cricket" Tate and Jerry Saylor (center of photo) jumped into action when an Ace Hardware customer collapsed in the store. Tate and Saylor recognized the cardiac emergency and immediately started CPR, including rescue breaths. The owner of Ace Hardware, Roger Stoner, called 911 to request emergency responders, and assisted as they arrived. The patient was transported by Red Lion Ambulance to York Hospital. It was confirmed that the actions of these citizens saved the man's life. Their actions are commendable at any time, but exceptional during Covid.
PA State Rep. Mike Jones (left) and PA State Rep. Stan Saylor (right) presented both with a Pa House of Representatives Citation. Chief Damon presented both with a Citizen Commendation from the York Area Regional Police.

Congratulations and Thank You both!
