WYBPD Launches Clothing Drive for Victims of Sexual Assault

The West York Borough Police Department is hosting a clothing drive for victims of sexual abuse. The clothing will be donated to victims who are seen by Wellspan SAFE nurses at York Hospital after their exams. SAFE stands for Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations.

After a SAFE exam has taken place, police obtain the clothing that were involved in the assault for evidence. Having to take the clothing leaves the victims in need of items to wear home from the hospital.

We are asking for new adult and children's sizes. Ideally the clothes are to be loose fitting as in t-shirts, sweat shirts, shorts, sweat pants, there is a need for underwear as well. We are also accepting Gift Cards and we'll do the shopping for you. If dropping off a gift card, please place the card in an envelope and write "Officer Anaya: SAFE donation" then give the envelope to a front office employee.

Clothing donation box is located in the Municipal building at 1381 W. Poplar St. York PA 17404, connecting to the police department. Office hours are primarily Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm.

This drive will close at the end of April.

Thank you for you always participating in WYBPD events and caring for others!
