On 6/20/2019 Officers from the West Manchester Township Police Department were dispatched to the parking lot of Burger King at 2199 White Street for a report of a subject who was passed out inside of a vehicle. A Sergeant on duty arrived on scene first and located the vehicle, in the lot with a subject sitting in the driver's seat. The vehicle was not running and the key was not in the ignition. The Sergeant found that the subject appeared to be asleep and the he was snoring. The Sergeant attempted to verbally wake him up which did not work. The side window was down and the door was partially open so the Sergeant was able to open the door and wake the subject up using a sternum rub. Once he woke up he identified himself as Jerrod Scott. The Sergeant then noticed that there was syringe in plain view in the center console. Scott was asked about this syringe and he then admitted to injecting himself with fentanyl. When asked about the fentanyl Scott admitted to having several bags of it in the center console next to the syringe. The Sergeant placed Scott in custody and provided him with his Miranda Warnings which he stated that he understood.
During the search of the vehicle, the Officer located the syringe that was still loaded with a liquid substance. The Officer also located 6 green wax paper bags in the center console next to the syringe. Scott admitted that they were his and that some of them still had fentanyl inside of them. Those items were taken as evidence.
Based on the above information, Jerrod Aaron Scott was charged with 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Fentanyl, Misdemeanor and 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor.
