On 10/30/2019, an Officer from the West Manchester Township Police Department responded to WalMart for a report of a retail theft with a female in custody. Upon the Officer’s arrival, the Officer spoke to a store loss prevention officer. The LPO advised that he had seen the female acting suspiciously in the store and carrying a book bag. The LPO watched as the female selected nine items valued at $53.19. The female placed the items into her book bag and attempted to leave the store without first paying the required fee.
The LPO stopped the female who was identified as Marianne Borga. Borga said she was suffering from anxiety and several other issues. Borga shook the Officer’s hand and apologized for taking the items. Borga then told the Officer that she is currently going to counseling for kleptomania.
Upon running Borgas criminal history it was discovered that she has already plead guilty to nine prior retail thefts.
Due to the above mentioned facts, a warrant was issued for the defendant, Marianne Faith Borga charging her with 1 count of Retail Theft (F3) on 12/05/2019.
