Case

On 4/22/2019 at approximately 4:48pm, an Officer from the West Manchester Township Police Department was dispatched to Walmart at 1000 Town Center Drive for a retail theft report.

An Officer arrived at Walmart and spoke with the Loss Prevention Officer who advised an associate observed a black male customer attempting to remove the theft deterrent device from a shark robot vacuum held for sale by Walmart.  The LPO stated he began observing the suspect who was successful in removing the theft deterrent device and was now walking towards lawn and garden.  The LPO stated the suspect walked around the outside of the cash registers while carrying the vacuum.   The suspect then came to the exterior door by the parking lot where the suspect attempted to lift the vacuum above the theft deterrent sensors by the door as he walked outside.  The LPO stopped the suspect who denied stealing the item and advised he paid for it.  The LPO attempted to gain cooperation from the suspect but he became belligerent and refused to accompany him back to the LP office.  The suspect dropped the vacuum and walked away from the LPO towards the bus stop where he entered a Rabbit Transit bus and left the area.

The total value for the vacuum was $349.00.

Anyone who is able to identify the suspect is encouraged to contact the West Manchester Township Police Department at (717) 792-9514.
