On Wednesday May 15, 2019 at approximately 3:30 PM West Manchester Township Police Department responded to the area of the 4300 block of W Market St on Lincoln Highway (SR 30) for report of two vehicle accident with entrapment.
West Manchester Township Police and Fire Department personnel worked to extricate a badly injured driver from his vehicle. Patient was then transported to York Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The patient is identified as Paulin T. Atemekeng of Frederick, MD.
West Manchester Police Department initially determined that Mr. Atemekeng was traveling westbound on W Market St when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle drifted from the westbound lanes of travel. Mr. Atemekeng’s vehicle drifted through the center left turn lane into the path of an eastbound commercial motor vehicle. The operator of the commercial motor vehicle was unable to avoid the oncoming vehicle and a collision ensued.
West Manchester Township Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the accident. A complete accident reconstruction is currently underway. Information will be released at such time that the cause of the accident is better understood.
