On July 4, 2019, Officer’s from the West Manchester Township Police Department, were dispatched to Lawson Court at approximately 2128 hours for an unknown problem that was occurring. The male caller, whom wished to remain anonymous, indicated that a male was screaming at a female. The caller also stated that someone was beating up someone else.
Moments later, Officer’s arrived on scene where they encountered a shirtless male standing by his car in front of a residence on Lawson Court. The male was identified as Sean Eric Turley. An Officer immediately took notice that Sean's left eye was bruised and significantly swollen. His face also had specs of blood in and around his eye and forehead. Sean stated that his children's mother, who was now currently across the street, punched him in the face. Sean denied medical attention.
An Officer remained with Sean while another Officer walked across the street to speak with the victim. Present with the victim was her neighbor. The victim informed me that Sean currently lives in Perry County and was here visiting with his children for the 4th of July. The victim advised prior to this incident, they were down the street setting off fireworks. She indicated that both of them were drinking alcohol today. An argument ensued when she asked Sean to wait until dark to set off fireworks. She stated that he then became belligerent due to wanting to set off fireworks at that point in time. She stated that Sean began calling her derogatory names. Moments later, she reported that Sean left and walked back to her residence. Soon after, the victim followed after him. Upon her entering into the house, she confronted Sean asking him why he was acting rude towards her. She attempted to calm him down, however this only angered him more. At this point is when the victim indicated that Sean punched her in her face 3 times, which caused her to fall to the ground. The victim reported in self-defense and in an effort to create separation, she punched Sean in the face. Afterwards, she ran out of her house towards her neighbor’s house. The victim reported as she neared the rear side of her neighbor’s car that was parked in the street, she felt a hard shove to her back, which caused her to collide into the car and onto the pavement. At this point, Sean was now hovering over top of her saying, "F you bitch." She also stated that Sean spit into her face and then walked away.
The victim’s right knee was scraped and bleeding. Her face had dried blood on her forehead, jaw line, and mouth. She stated the inside of her upper lip was cut from Sean punching her. Her right hand, specifically around her knuckles, had dried blood.
The Officer provided Sean his Miranda Warnings. Sean wished to speak further about the incident. He denied to punching the victim. He stated that everyone was setting off fireworks across the street, away from the trailer park. He indicated that he and the victim were not inside their home when she punched him in the eye. He also denied to shoving her in back while chasing her from behind. I did not view any visible marks on either of Sean's hands.
Based on the above information, Sean Eric Turley was charged with 1 count of Simple Assault, M2 and 1 count Harassment, Summary.
