The West Manchester Township Police Department arrested Hartlaub, Tony Scott on Wednesday May 15th, 2019.
On 4/5/19 at 1832 hours an officer from the West Manchester Township Police Department was dispatched to Weis Markets located at 2160 White St for a Retail Theft report. The officer spoke with an employee who is a loss prevention officer for Weis Markets. The employee advised that on this date while he was walking through the store he began to watch a white male who was pushing a shopping cart. The employee witnessed the suspect select numerous food items and place them into the bottom of his cart. The employee then watched the suspect select three large cases of water bottles and place them into his cart on top of the items he previously selected. The suspect then proceeded to the checkout aisle and paid for the water as well the items that were not concealed. During this transaction the suspect made no attempt to pay for the concealed merchandise. The suspect then exited the store which was when he was approached by the employee. The employee identified himself and the suspect agreed to come back into the store. The suspect was escorted into the office where he became increasingly nervous. The employee advised that the suspect stated that he was in a hurry and that he had a little too much to drink. While the employee was attempting to obtain his information the suspect stated that he needed to go outside and tell his wife what was going on. It was at that point that the suspect pushed his way out of the office and ran outside to his vehicle. The total value of the merchandise that was not paid for was $73.93.
Upon further investigation the officer determined that the suspect was Tony Hartlaub that had a listed address of 2251 Bannister St. The officer found that Hartlaub has five prior convictions for Retail Theft.
The officer charged Tony Hartlaub with 1 count of Felony Retail Theft.
