York County C.A.R.E. Team - Protecting Children. Saving Lives.
The York County Child Abduction Response Effort (C.A.R.E. Team) is a multi-disciplinary team of local, state and federal agencies that respond to abducted and missing and endangered children incidents in York County. The team is certified by the U.S. Dept. of Justice Amber Alert Program. We are the only certified team in Pennsylvania and one of 27 in the U.S.
The team's bloodhound is K9 Sgt. Prince (York County Sheriff's Office), who was donated to the team in March 2017 from the Jimmy Ryce Foundation and the Prince Athletic Club. Our other K9's include K9 Dargo and K9 Hawk (York County Sheriff's Office), K9 Stratton and K9 Briggs (Summit Search & Rescue) and K9 Trax (Trax Search and Rescue).
The team members attend numerous trainings throughout the year and the team trains in-full annually either through a table top drill or a mock exercise.
The team is a non-profit 503(c)(3) and receives no local, state or federal funding and relies strictly on fundraisers and donations.
