Spring Garden PD Welcomes Alex Mann, Autism Awareness Advocate and Police Supporter

Created May 18th, 2023 | Updated Jun 1st, 2023

Spring Garden Township Police were honored to have our new friend, Alex Mann, visit us yesterday, May 17th.

Alex, a 23-year-old Chester County, PA resident living with autism, has made it his life’s mission to spend time with as many law enforcement officers as possible to promote autism awareness and share his personal perspective on how officers can better understand and interact with individuals who have an autism spectrum disorder.

Over the past 4+ years, Alex has traveled to more than 350 police departments across the country, showing his support for law enforcement and educating officers about autism. The Spring Garden Township Police Department was the 353rd department Alex has visited!

During his visit, Alex was outfitted with one of our uniform shirts and given a tour of the police station, where he interacted with officers and checked out their patrol vehicles.  Alex also spent time in our forensics lab learning about evidence processing and equipment.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to meet and speak with you, Alex!  We wish you well as you continue your journey across the country building bridges between law enforcement and the autism community.
