On Sunday, October 9, 2022, at approximately 6:45 A.M., Spring Garden Township Police were dispatched to J&K Salvage, 1099 Kings Mill Road, York, PA, for a reported stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, a 64-year-old male employee of J&K Salvage.
The victim advised officers that an unknown actor, later identified as Dale Wallace Martin Jr. (No Fixed Address), was observed milling around the business property wearing the uniform of a known fellow J&K Salvage employee.
The victim made contact with Martin and asked him who he was and where he worked. At that time, Martin suddenly brandished a folding knife and stabbed/slashed at the victim several times. Another employee witnessed the attack and physically interceded, causing Martin to flee.
The victim sustained minor injuries to his neck, but refused treatment from EMS.
At approximately 3:03 P.M., officers were checking the area around J&K Salvage for the suspect when they were alerted that Martin had possibly returned to the business. Officers located Martin in a shed on the property where he was arrested without incident.
It was determined that the uniform Martin had been wearing during the attack had been stolen from the business.
