On October 4, 2025, at approximately 2:30 AM, the Springettsbury Township Police Department was notified that a 26-year-old male had arrived at WellSpan York Hospital with a gunshot wound. Through investigation it was determined that the incident occurred behind Berkshire Hathaway, located at 2600 Eastern Blvd.

On October 9, 2025, detectives with the Springettsbury Township Police Department received credible information identifying a potential suspect. As a result of the investigation, detectives located and detained Brock Poteet, a 22-year-old male from York Haven. Further investigative efforts confirmed that Poteet was responsible for the shooting on October 4, 2025.

Poteet is currently being held at the York County Prison.  Poteet is considered innocent until proven guilty.
