On 2/25/21 3:10 PM emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Pleasant Dr. and Cedar Dr. for a vehicle crash involving a car that struck a structure and propane tanks. No injuries were reported and the driver was taken into custody for DUI.
Newberry Township Police would like to extend a big thank you to, Jay, owner of Don Levy’s Auto Service for his helping hand. During heavy snow conditions, Officer Bloom and Newberry Township EMS were attempting to reach a patient with a medical emergency. A 200 yard driveway covered in snow was preventing our ambulance from reaching the residence. Officer Bloom reached out to Jay for assistance and escorted him back to the scene. Within minutes, Jay utilized his plow truck to clear the entire driveway, allowing first responders to reach the patient.
Newberry Township Police Department’s K9s Rico and Zar have received bullet and stab protective vests thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and the Knights of Columbus from Holy Infant Catholic Church of Manchester, PA. The vests were embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K-9 Tazer”.
Heavy police presence in the area of Kise Kill Road and Sheepbridge Road. Burglary suspect described as a black or hispanic male wearing camouflage fled from police into a wooded area north of the iron bridge. As many hunters are entering the woods this morning, please use caution and notify police if the subject is encountered.
Trick or Treat will be held from 6-8 PM Tonight (10/24/2019) in Newberry Township. Those participating are reminded to travel in groups, carry a flashlight or other illumination device and travel on sidewalks were available. N.T.P.D. will have additional officers assigned to patrol for this event and will be making their way through the township to help keep our participants safe.
