Highlighting the Unforeseen Dangers of Unlocked Vehicles

During the overnight hours of May 15th, three actors entered dozens of unlocked vehicles while they were parked in driveways but, they didn't stop there! These actors not only stole money and valuables, they also stole vehicles and guns. Pretty dangerous right? Well, it gets even worse. These brazen criminals took it once step further when they used door openers found in the vehicles to enter people's garages while the homeowners slept inside. While leaving a vehicle unlocked can sometimes be an oversight, we urge citizens to make it a priority due to the dangerous potential of those with bad intentions. Police continue to gather information and evidence to help identify the persons responsible for these crimes. Anyone with information is urged to call Newberry Township Police at (717)-938-2608.
