Car Break Ins and Suspicious Activity - East Prospect Borough

In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 27, 2022, several vehicles in the area of Riverview Drive and Creekside Drive, East Prospect Borough; as well as Calvary Church Road, Lower Windsor Township, were gone through and items stolen.  All of these vehicles were left unlocked.  Items stolen from vehicles ranged from a firearm to handbags, CD’s and some no property was stolen but consoles and glove boxes were rummaged through.

LWTPD would like to remind residents to keep an eye on their home security cameras and to report any suspicious activity or person immediately to the police department by calling 911 and having an officer dispatched to the location.  Even if it’s not an emergency, please dial 911, tell the dispatcher it’s a non-emergency and you’d like to speak with LWTPD officer.

Keep your car doors locked and windows closed at all times when not occupied.

One of the simplest ways to protect your car is to lock the doors and close the windows anytime you aren't in the vehicle.

Property crimes are often crimes of opportunity: Open windows and unlocked doors can easily attract thieves, or give them opportunities to strike quickly and maintain a low profile. If would-be thieves can't quickly gain entry to your car, they'll often simply keep moving.

Most vehicles come equipped with car alarms.  They only work when your car is locked.  This is a big deterrent for any would-be thieves.

Please be advised that this department would welcome any video footage from home security systems or Ring cameras.  Please also consider registering your home camera on our Crimewatch page.  Here's how it works:
