Police Sergeant Set to Retire
The Fairview Township Police Department is announcing the retirement of Sergeant Craig Kelly. Sergeant Kelly is retiring after more than 32 years in law enforcement, 29 of which were in service to the citizens of Fairview Township.
Sergeant Kelly grew up in Fairview Township. In March of 1986 he began his career in law enforcement with the Raleigh Police Department in North Carolina. On September 18, 1989 Sergeant Kelly returned home and started his career with the Fairview Township Police Department. During his time with Fairview Township, Sergeant Kelly was a valued officer who specialized in traffic related crimes. He was a member of the department's Traffic Safety Unit, was a certified accident reconstructionist, and was a truck inspector certified under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program. Sergeant Kelly earned promotion to his current position in 2005 and has been a valued leader and mentor within the department.
As a department, we will miss Sergeant Kelly's knowledge, experience, and leadership but we are excited for him as he starts a new chapter in life. The members of the Fairview Township Police Department congratulate Sergeant Kelly and wish him a happy retirement with success in whatever the future may bring to him.
