National Peace Officers Memorial Day

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as National Police Week. National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

So today, on May 15, we would like to honor all those officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, and in particular the 135 officers who died in 2017 and the 53 who have fallen so far in 2018.
