Police Investigating a New Wave of Thefts From Vehicles

The Fairview Township Police Department is investigating a new wave of thefts from motor vehicles that occurred over the July 4th holiday weekend.  It appears that most every theft occurred in the overnight hours from July 3rd through July 4th.  Vehicles on Red Haven Road, Lafayette Drive, Emily Lane as well as vehicles in the 300 and 400 blocks of Old York Road were entered.  The thieves were again targeting unlocked vehicles and stole any cash they could find.

Police are asking anybody in these areas that may have outdoor security cameras to check your video for any suspicious activity during this time period and for anybody that may have information regarding this crime to call them at 717-901-5267 or by clicking the "submit a tip" button on this page.

The Fairview Township Police Department would like to further stress to all of it's residents to lock their vehicles, even when they are parked in your driveway.  Do not make yourself an easy target for those that have criminal intentions.  Historically, the vast majority of these theft cases involve unlocked vehicles.
