On January 22, 2018 at 7:20 pm the Fairview Township Police Department was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Quaker Circle for a domestic assault report.
Upon arriving, police met with a female victim who advised that she had been assault by her ex-boyfriend, 47 year old Robert Farner Jr of 2nd Street in Enola. The victim indicated that the relationship ended over one month ago. Farner came by her residence on this date to retrieve personal belongings. While he was there an argument broke out that became physical. Farner is alleged to have thrown the victim onto the couch, then sat on her and held his hand over her mouth and nose to the point she could not breath. While doing this, he is alleged to have told her "you deserve this". Farner eventually got off the victim and went outside. At this point, the victim attempted to lock him out utilizing a deadbolt. Farner then forced entry to the residence, breaking the door frame in doing so. The victim was able to escape to a neighbor's residence and called police. Farner then left the scene.
Later that evening, police arrested Farner. He was charged with Strangulation, Criminal Trespass, Simple Assault, Defiant Trespass, Harassment and Criminal Mischief. He was transported to the York County Booking Center for arrest processing and arraignment. Farner was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Douglas Meisenhelter and remanded to the York County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
