A change in the Parade route will lead to the closure of Highland Ave & W Market St today (10/27/19) at 2:00 pm. for approx. 20 minutes. Please use alternative routes during this timeframe.

West York Borough Police have arrested and charged an individual with Aggravated Assault relating to an overnight stabbing that occurred in the 1700 Block of W. Philadelphia Street. This was a domestic related incident and the public was safe at all times. The victim was treated and released from the hospital and is doing well. We will post more detailed information at a later time.

Trick or Treat will be held from 6-8 PM Tonight (10/24/2019) in Newberry Township. Those participating are reminded to travel in groups, carry a flashlight or other illumination device and travel on sidewalks were available. N.T.P.D. will have additional officers assigned to patrol for this event and will be making their way through the township to help keep our participants safe. Report any suspicious or dangerous activity by dialing 911. We hope you have a fun and safe night!  

On October 20, 2019 a water main broke in the 200 block of E Market St.  Residents please move vehicles and use caution. York Water has been notified and is working on this. For motorists, traffic will be rerouted for an indefinite period of time so delays are likely. 

Hanover Rd, Route 116, in the area of Dunedin Park is closed due to a severe motor vehicle crash. Emergency personnel are on scene and ask that you avoid the area if at all possible.

The West York Borough Police have arrested a local man for a recent theft from a vehicle. More information will be released later today.

We have seen a rash of thefts from vehicles in the last few days throughout the Borough. Please remember to lock your car doors and remain vigilant in reporting suspicious activity.

On September 22nd, 2019 at approximately 2:01 am The York City Police Department responded to 512 N George St for a report of a shooting. Once on scene they discovered one adult male who was deceased and that a second adult male had been taken by personal vehicle to York Hospital. The second male is in critical condition. There have been no arrests at this time. An update to this release will be put out on Monday September 23rd at 11:00 AM.

On September 11, 2019 at approximately 8:33 PM the York City Police Department responded to the 500 block of W Princess St for a report of a shooting. Once on scene they discovered two adult male victims.  Both were transported to York Hospital and both were later pronounced dead.   

On 09/09/19 at 5:29 p.m., police responded to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. A 10-year-old female was riding her scooter south on Highland Ave.
